Induction wok
You can easily find an induction wok that allows you to cook not only healthily, but also in an environmentally-friendly way. As you don't use gas or fire, it's a very safe method of cooking. If you want to buy a wok for induction, opt for a pan with a flat base, as a round base does not fit well on a flat hob.
Wok with lid
For simmering food and keeping the heat in the pan, it's handy to invest in a wok with a lid. This way, you can prevent scalding splashes from reaching you. What's more, a wok with a lid is also very practical when you want to drain off some of the cooking juices. Of course, the lid can be very hot, so we recommend that you use oven gloves or potholders.
What is the difference between a wok and a frying pan?
A wok is generally recognised by its rounded base combined with high sides, whereas a frying pan has a flat base and lower sides. The wok is ideal for rapid, high-temperature cooking, making it perfect for stir-frying Asian dishes, for example. But the wok can also be used for grilling meat or even simmering fish. A very versatile utensil! The frying pan, on the other hand, can be used for grilling, roasting, steaming or even frying. In short, it all depends on what you want to prepare and the style of cooking you prefer. But don't worry: thanks to our wide range, you'll always find the pan that's right for you!
What to look out for when buying a wok?
Do you want to buy the right wok but don't know what to expect? Not to worry. In the list below, you'll find a series of important factors to consider when buying a wok.
-
Heat source: an important factor when buying a wok is the heat source you'll be cooking on. Take a close look at the heat source you have available and adapt the wok pan accordingly. For example, you can cook on an induction, gas or electric heat source. Our range also includes woks that can be used on any heat source.
-
Material: the material of the wok can also be a determining factor, as aluminium and stainless steel conduct heat well. Ceramic and cast iron woks stand up well to high temperatures.
-
Size: you also need to consider the size of the wok. If you often cook for several people, you may need a large wok.
-
Functionality: You'll also want to look for additional features, such as a non-stick coating or handles that are easy to grip. We have a very wide range of woks, so you're sure to find one that meets your criteria.

What is a real wok?
A real wok is generally made of cast iron and has a round, conical shape with high sides. They are traditionally considered the best choice for woks, as the heat is distributed evenly and there is less risk of sticking problems. However, they are often more difficult to maintain than other materials, such as stainless steel or aluminium. But if you want to create dishes with authentic flavours, it's well worth investing in a real wok. Bear in mind that they often have to be used at high temperatures and greased with oil or other fats before you start cooking. But if you're prepared to put in the time and effort, you'll be rewarded with deliciously flavoured dishes.
What& is the best induction wok ?
There is no specific wok that is considered the best for induction. Choosing the best wok depends on your personal preferences and needs. You can consider material, size and additional features. A good starting point is to choose a flat-bottomed wok suitable for induction cooking. It's also a good idea to opt for a non-stick or ceramic-coated wok, which is easy to clean and reduces the risk of sticking.
What is a wok used for?
A wok is used to heat vegetables, meat or fish to a high temperature in a short space of time. This preserves vitamins and flavours. You don't need to use a lot of oil in a wok, so you can add little fat to your meal. As well as Asian dishes, you can also prepare Dutch food such as Brussels sprouts or small potatoes in the wok. Thanks to the high sides, you can easily stir all the ingredients and everything will be cooked thoroughly.
What is a good wok?
A good wok reaches a high temperature and is suited to the heat source used. Cast iron is a perfect material because it adapts to all heat sources, its temperature can rise quickly and the wok holds well on the hob. Prefer a lighter wok? Then opt for a steel, stainless steel or aluminium wok (not suitable for induction). For all heat sources, flat-bottomed woks are the most efficient. Would you like a round-bottomed wok? Then use a wok ring or stand.
How to take care of your wok?
We recommend that you always clean your wok by hand, so that you can enjoy it for longer. Clean the wok with warm water and a sponge, without soap. This will preserve the wok's (natural) non-stick coating. Then dry it with a clean cloth or put it over a low heat for 1 to 2 minutes. You can remove stubborn residues by heating a little salt on the bottom of the wok and then wiping it dry with kitchen roll.
What wok size do I need?
The size of wok you need depends on the amount of food you're going to cook and the number of people in it. If you usually cook alone or with just the two of you, a smaller wok will suffice. On the other hand, if you often cook for groups of four or more, you may need a larger wok. Take a close look at the wok's capacity, which is given in the product information. Compare this with the average amount of food you cook and you'll know whether the capacity is sufficient.
