Thanks to the high quality and the cast aluminum, you can enjoy the Nordic Ware baking molds for a lifetime. Provided you treat the mold well before, during, and after baking, of course. The Nordic Ware baking molds all have a non-stick coating, but you will still need to grease the mold for the best and tastiest result. There are two ways to do this:
- Use a vegetable butter and evenly distribute it over the entire mold with a rubber brush, making sure to cover all corners and crevices. Then lightly dust the mold with flour. Shake it well in the mold so that flour is also in all corners. Did you succeed? Then you can shake off the excess flour from the mold.
- Use a baking spray. But be careful, not every baking spray is suitable. Pay particular attention to the fact that the baking spray is vegetable and does not contain lecithin. Lecithin can eventually leave a sticky layer in the mold, causing the non-stick coating to no longer work at all. It is also useful if the baking spray contains flour. It is important that you spread the spray evenly in the mold using a rubber brush.
Once the mold is well greased, you can fill it with the batter, never fill the mold more than 2/3 full to prevent leakage. Then it is time to put your mold with batter in the oven. The temperature and baking time of the batter in the oven will of course depend on the recipe, so keep an eye on it.
To make sure your cake comes out of the oven perfectly, it is best to use a thermometer to check the core temperature. Is your cake done? Let it cool in the mold for 10 minutes before turning the mold over and sliding
