With three generations of research, development and experience in creating functionally grape-specific glassware, Georg and Maximilian challenged Riedel challenged themselves to improve on what had come before. The result is Performance - a technologically advanced and user-friendly collection of wine glasses for specific grape varieties.
Performance is the first Riedel wine glass series ever with chalices executed with a light-optic effect. Detailed research of the family Riedel, aimed at improving the drinking experience, revealed that increasing the interior surface area of the glass had a positive impact on the perception of the bouquet and taste of the wine.
This was achieved through a unique optical effect, a scalloped rim, which not only adds an attractive visual aspect to the chalice, but also enlarges the inner surface. This enlarged inner surface allows the wine to open up and reveal all its aromas and nuances.
